Returned to Winfield on Sunday October 15th at about 8pm

This was a nice ride and we plan to do it again. Anyone who has the opportunity to go should make plans to do so. We'll post it well in advance and you'll need to make your reservations as soon as possible because the hotels and camp sites will be scarce when we go back next summer.

Most of us camped in a tent on this trip but if you're not into camping, there are cabins, motel rooms and motor home accommodations in the area. Most all of the riding is through the mountains on winding and curvy roads, if you like this type of riding, this is a wonderful trip. The roads range from long and winding curves to the Dragons Tail which is an 11 mile stretch that has 318 curves. The scenery is beautiful and the people are some of the most hospitable that you'll meet anywhere. We stayed at the Kickstand Lodge, which is owned by Fred and Mo. Fred cooks breakfast and Mo cooks supper and everyone is invited. There's no charge for eating with them and everyone is invited but they will take donations. The only catch is that if they don't get enough donations for supper, then there's no money to buy breakfast fixins.
